MTN Smart Number Service
The MTN Smart Number service provides a business/organization with easy-to-remember phone numbers made up of numbers and alphabets
(e.g. 0700HOTPLATE) that uniquely identifies the name of the business, product or service. In addition, this service allows organizations to link their existing phone numbers (fixed, mobile and from any provider) to their MTN Smart Number. So, customers/callers only need to remember one number – the organization’s MTN Smart Number
The MTN Smart Number helps to:

· Increase the business’ reach among customers and prospects; and
· Increase business opportunity.

· Non-toll free 0700 numbers
· Toll-free 0800 numbers.

· Toll-free 0800 numbers.
MTN Smart Number both non-toll free 0700 numbers & toll-free 0800 numbers must consist of a minimum of 7 & a max of 12 numbers.
MTN Smart Number can be linked to as many as 300 existing phone numbers. if an MTN Smart Number is linked to your existing phone numbers, this feature enables incoming calls to be equally apportioned among these numbers

How do customers subscribe to the MTN Smart Number Service?
The Customers can:
- Visit www.mtnbusiness.com.ng/smartnumber to search for their desired name. If the name is available the customer will be prompted to make payment. If the desired name is not available, the customer will be prompted with three suggested names to choose from.
- Call 0700MTNBusiness
- Visit any MTN Walk-In Centre
- Corporate customers can also call their Account Partners.
- customer should call Customer Care on 0803 10 21600 for assistance
How do customers pay for an MTN Smart Number?
The service can be fully paid for online using an Interswitch ATM card or MasterCard.
Payment can also be made in cash or via POS at MTN Walk-In Centres only.
How long is the service valid for?
The service is valid for 1 year. E.g. 12th May 2013 to 11th June 2014.
Do I need to pay a deposit for a toll-free (0800) smart number?
Yes. Deposits are paid by customers who opt for the 0800 services. This deposit will be made for each 0800 number and shall be used up as calls are made to the 0800 number.
How does the customer know his/her username and password?
The customer will be sent his/her username and default password via email upon successful registration.
What happens at the expiration of the 1-year subscription?
Before the service expires, the customer will receive two SMS notifications: 1 month before and 2 days before your service expires. These notifications will prompt the customer to renew his/her subscription to avoid suspension of your service.
Does the customer have to pay for the additional features mentioned above?
No. All features are configured at no additional cost.
Can customers link their fixed phone numbers to their MTN Smart Number?
Yes. The service will work for all fixed/ fixed wireless lines
