Roaming is the ability for a customer to automatically make and receive voice calls, send and receive data or access another service when travelling outside the geographical coverage area of the home network by meaning using the network in an area visited.

This Service allows a prepaid/ postpaid customer uses his/her mobile phone in another network/country while maintaining his profile and MSISDN.

Where can I use my MTN Roaming Service?

MTN has a roaming agreement with various mobile networks in many countries covering Europe, America, Asia, Australia, Middle East and Africa with over 171 countries and 138 Network

What services will be available while I am roaming?

The following services will be available: 

1. Make and receive calls
2. Send and receive SMS/MMS
   
3. Send and receive emails 
4. Data Service (Browse the internet) 
5. MTN Share N Sell. (receive Transfer)
   

What to do before travelling:

1. Know the MTN roaming partner in the country you visiting
2. Know your charges 
3. Cancel all call divert (i.e. dial ##002#) 
4. Activate End of Call Notification (Text EOCNON to 131)
   

What to do on arrival:

1. Do a manual network search
2. Select preferred Network 
3. Initiate all Voice calls and SMS using international roaming format to all destinations while roaming. 
4. Activate EOCN to track spend 
5. Use a safe Wi-Fi network to check mail to minimize data cost
   

What do I do when I get back to Nigeria?

When you get back to Nigeria, make sure that you switch your phone off and then on again to connect to the MTN Nigeria network.
